WorldCare Plan Levels

WorldCare Essential

WorldCare Essential is designed for individuals who want strong protection against serious illness or injury while outside their home country. This plan focuses on covering high-cost medical events, providing access to inpatient and day-patient care when it matters most. It is a solid choice for those who want reliable hospital coverage without paying for benefits they may not need. A wide range of deductible options helps keep premiums affordable, and limited outpatient coverage can be added for an additional cost.

WorldCare Advance

WorldCare Advance builds on the Essential Plan by adding broader everyday healthcare benefits. In addition to inpatient and day-patient treatment, this plan includes outpatient care such as routine doctor visits, specialist appointments, physiotherapy, and select alternative therapies. Flexible cost-sharing options allow you to balance coverage and premium levels through deductibles, per-visit excesses, and co-insurance for both inpatient and outpatient care. It is well-suited for individuals who want comprehensive medical coverage while managing costs.

WorldCare Excel

WorldCare Excel offers higher benefit limits and more extensive coverage than the Advance level. It includes inpatient, day-patient, and outpatient care with increased annual limits, making it a strong option for individuals seeking broader protection and fewer coverage constraints. The plan also includes routine and complex dental care after a nine-month waiting period. Like the lower tiers, Excel provides multiple deductible options to help tailor premiums to your budget.

WorldCare Apex

WorldCare Apex is the most comprehensive WorldCare plan, offering very high benefit limits and the broadest range of coverage. It includes enhanced inpatient, day-patient, and outpatient benefits, along with routine maternity coverage after a twelve-month waiting period. This plan is ideal for individuals or families seeking the highest level of global medical protection, particularly those planning major life events, such as starting or expanding a family while living abroad.

Additional Coverage Options

Members have the option to add more coverage to their WorldCare plan, making it more comprehensive. This includes U.S. elective treatment, wellness benefits (for all tiers except the Essential tier), outpatient coverage (for the Essential tier), and additional benefits.

WorldCare Plan Rates

Your WorldCare plan premium is initially determined by your age and the region where you reside. The number of dependents on your plan will affect your premium level. Your premium will also change based on the options you select. For example, a higher-tier plan will have a higher premium. Adding optional coverage will also increase your premium. You can decrease your premium costs by raising your deductible, among other factors.

WorldCare Eligibility

People residing in nations not covered by Now Health WorldCare plans may not be eligible for insurance. Membership may also depend on local legislation in your country of residence. You must meet the local legislation requirements in your country of residence at all times, both before and while you are a member of Now Health WorldCare medical plans.

Age limits also restrict eligibility. The minimum age to apply for a Now Health medical WorldCare plan is 18 years of age, and the maximum entry age is 79. You must be under 80 years of age at the entry date of your WorldCare plan. If you are adding dependents to your medical WorldCare plan, they must be covered under the same level of benefits as the plan holder.

Full Medical Underwriting

Now Health requires each person covered by their plans to complete and return an application form, which includes a medical declaration. If you answer yes to any of the medical questions, you must provide details of the date and diagnosis, past/current and known future treatments, and details of the frequency and severity of symptoms, including the date of the last episode. If available, please also include any relevant medical reports or test results with your application. All information will be treated in strict confidence. If you submit a claim for the treatment of any condition that you omitted to tell Now Health about, or you omit to tell Now Health everything about any condition, Now Health may refuse to pay that claim.

WorldCare FAQs

  • All of Now Health‘s quotations are valid for 30 days and you can apply for cover up to 60 days in advance of your requested start date. If your information changes in between any of these periods of time, please tell Now Health as soon as possible as it might have an impact on your application. An example of a change of information might be a change of address for you, a member of your plan moving to another country or a change in the medical condition of any of the people in the plan. If you’re not sure whether a change in your information is important, please let them know so they can correctly assess your application.

  • You can get treatment for eligible medical conditions worldwide. You may be able to access our provider network if you have a nil excess or have elected to buy our out-patient direct billing option so that you can obtain treatment without paying up-front.

Alternatively, you can contact your nearest service team to check eligibility and place a guarantee of payment for you, so you don’t need to pay in advance.

The third option is to pay and claim your expenses back. Providing your claim is eligible and the charges are reasonable and customary, you can recoup your expenses. You will, of course, have to pay for any excess or co-insurance that is due on your plan option.

  • The first place to check for eligibility is the members’ handbook. You will find a copy in the “My plan” section of your online portfolio area. Check which plan option you have and any additional options you have selected on your plan. You can check to see if the benefit you want to claim under is fully covered up to the annual maximum benefit limit, has any annual or lifetime limits in place, or isn’t covered.

If you are in any doubt, please call your nearest customer service team, who will be happy to help.

  • All of Now Health’s quotations are valid for 30 days and you can apply for cover up to 60 days in advance of your requested start date.

  • If you inform Now Health of your medical treatment ahead of time they will arrange to pay the hospital or doctor. If you do not inform Now Health ahead of time then you can submit a claims form to be reimbursed for the treatment up to 6 months after the treatment. If you have chosen a deductible, then you will have to pay the amount yourself.

  • Members may choose from a wide range of annual deductibles for in- and day-patient treatment, all the way up to $15,000 for those who want to keep their premiums as low as possible. The deductible you choose is what you must pay out of pocket towards your medical bills annually before Now Health will pay your bills.

  • WorldCare Excel and Apex are the only WorldCare levels that offer coverage for routine and complex dental care.

  • All four WorldCare levels (Essential, Advance, Excel, and Apex) provide coverage for in and day-patient treatment.

  • WorldCare Advance, Excel, and Apex provide coverage for outpatient treatment. WorldCare Essential does not provide coverage for outpatient treatment.
